The Sandbox Partners With a Myriad of Hong Kong Luminaries, Plans to Launch Metaverse ‘Mega City’

Decentraland and the Sandbox are gaining significant interest as Web3, NFTs and metaverse hype have increased exponentially in recent years. The launch of a Mega City’ was announced Wednesday by The Sandbox, an Animoca Brands affiliate and blockchain metaverse that uses non-fungible tokens (NFTs) technology. According to the announcement, the firm has established various partnerships in Hong Kong. The metaverse region will be ‘a new cultural center’.

The Sandbox reveals that it has partnered with Adrian Cheng (CEO of New World Development in Hong Kong), founder of K11 and Chow Tai Fook’s executive director. Cheng’s XL Estate, which is 24 x 24, LANDs, will be featured in the blockchain virtual world. It aims to become an ‘innovation hub for Mega City. The GBA Pavilion, which showcases creativity and tech wonders, will be a landmark. Cheng’s GBA Companies can also offer special experiences such as ‘entertainment [and] unique NFTs.
